We are T-minus 19 days from the start of Meridian 2022, our annual conference! Before we pack our luggage last minute, remind ourselves not to forget our passports, and arrive at the airport way too close to boarding, we thought it’d be helpful to set expectations and remind everyone of what they can look forward to when attending Meridian.
Below are some of the most commonly asked questions we get:
Let’s start with the basics. Meridian 2022 is a free in-person conference taking place from Oct. 11-13, 2022 in Rome, Italy. The venue is the Palazzo Brancaccio, a gorgeous 19th-century baroque palace located in the center of the city and not too far off from the Colosseum.
Visit our site and hit “Register Now” in the top right to fill out your details! Once you’ve completed your form, you will receive a registration email with event details. Note that online registration is mandatory before the event, as we will not be doing onsite registration.
We’ve organized a few hotel options at a preferred rate for Meridian attendees. Availability is limited so make sure to book your room before it sells out!
Meridian 2022 will have a jam-packed agenda, featuring over 40 sessions including: keynotes, panels, fireside chats, debates, networking opportunities, interactive sessions, and more.
We have more than 65 speakers from around the world participating in-person. Our speakers include policymakers, ecosystem partners and businesses, developers, technologists, development banks, and industry thought leaders.
With Meridian, we’re building an experience. Outside of roundtable discussions, panels, fireside chats, and demos, we’ll be kicking off the conference with a welcome cocktail. We will also be hosting the gala “Una Notte Stellare” the following evening.
If you feel like taking a break from all the formal sessions, you can hang out in the coffee lounge, the Community Corner, the Partner Gallery, and the NFT Gallery. We’ll have special activities taking place throughout the venue (even a 5k run!), so make sure to explore all we have to offer.
There will be plenty of opportunities to network throughout Meridian. New to our conference is Braindate, a web-based crowdsourced networking platform where you can connect with like-minded peers and discuss relevant topics of your choice. When you register for Meridian, you’ll have access to the Braindate platform and be able to schedule 1:1 or group meetings ahead of time to meet with your fellow peers at the conference.
We also have dedicated networking spaces in addition to a partner expo. Visit our partner booths and chat with the brilliant companies building on the Stellar network, including: Arf, Circle, Fireblocks, MoneyGram, Nium, Ultra Stellar, Wirex, and Wyre.
Please make sure you’re following the proper local authority guidelines and requirements to enter Italy. We suggest checking in with the following sites before traveling to Italy:
When you check-in at the event, we’ll ask attendees to indicate their level of comfort engaging with fellow Meridian attendees. We’ll distribute color-coded stickers for each attendee to identify their preferences:
We will also provide face masks and antigen kits at check-in.
During the registration process, all registrants are asked i) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19* at the time of the event, (ii) or have received a negative PCR or antigen test for COVID-19 conducted no earlier than 24 hours before their arrival to the event, (iii) to attend the event at their own risk; SDF cannot and does not guarantee that the event participants or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19. And (iv) SDF will not be liable or responsible if you or any others in attendance become infected with COVID-19 as a result of attending the event. We will have antigen kits available for pick up at the venue.
*SDF aligns with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding COVID-19 vaccination and requests all attendees to be up to date with their COVID-19 primary series vaccines and their most recent booster dose to be considered fully vaccinated. Attendees must be able to provide a proof of COVID-19 vaccination if requested.

This is the first in-person conference we’re hosting since 2019, so saying we’re stoked is a bit of an understatement. We look forward to seeing you all there and having an amazing time together – and of course, don’t forget to register!
