Ah, at last, you’ve dared to stop by, dear reader.

I am the unparalleled genius and cryptographer Dr. Archibald Twist. The world labels me mad, but I prefer eccentric. Brilliant, even.

Hmm, I sense much heroism and courage in you. Which means you’re probably here seeking enlightenment on the next RPCiege. I’ve made many discoveries here. Yes, the mysteries of this town run deeper than anyone could have guessed. Beyond ruthless overlords and spooky monsters are less obvious but more dangerous threats. I’ve been here investigating for weeks, and I’ve gathered enough information to finally help put these perils to rest.

What is this RPCiege you speak of?

What is RPCiege, you ask? Oh ho, you’re a bit behind the times my inquisitive friend. But no matter. RPCiege is the name for a series of coding puzzles that adventurers must conquer to learn the fundamentals of Rust and Soroban smart contract development. Each completed challenge also sees players defending innocents from barbarous tyrants, zombies, werewolves, and other unspeakable horrors.

There have been two sieges with seven total skirmishes so far and you can read all about them in this retelling presented by my foppish yet talented friend Tristan Noteleaf.

Now let’s get to the interesting part…

Siege 4 is here, and we need your help

Yes, you heard me correctly, intrepid adventurer. Dangers continue to threaten our quaint village, leaving the townspeople in a constant state of fear with every last nerve frayed.

I’ve journeyed through vast realms of knowledge to uncover three new Soroban Rust challenges that you must vanquish in order to, once again, save our town from utter destruction. So, I recommend you get some sleep, gather your tools, and muster your courage, for Siege 4 of RPCiege is fast upon us.

  • Skirmish 8, Pattern Finder: released September 13th between 9 am and 1 pm EST
  • Skirmish 9, Upgrade Contract: released September 14th between 9 am and 1 pm EST
  • Skirmish 10, Neighborhood Fund: released September 15th between 9 am and 1 pm EST

I recognize that a four-hour release window is, well, ambiguous. So be sure to select “Coding games and challenges” in the #Channels & Roles channel in the Stellar Developer Discord to stay up to date on announcements. And of course, you’re welcome to prepare for this new siege by playing or replaying all previous RPCiege skirmishes from the RPCiege booklet.

That’s that, my illustrious hero! I’ve done what I can to prepare you for the journey. It is in your hands now. See you on the other side.
